Before switching to startups and AI, I worked in research and government. For 1.5 years, I was a Consultant under Dr. Santhosh Mathew (ex-IAS) at the Delhi office of the Gates Foundation where I led verticals on algorithmic public finance, smart contracts, procurement marketplaces, and digital health. I've coauthored some institutional publications including high-dimensional macro-financial models at the Reserve Bank of India and a chapter in the Economic Survery of India in the 2021 Union Budget. I was the Research Assistant to the Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India and have spent time in a variety of development labs including J-PAL, the Good Business Lab, and the Harvard Kennedy School. Broadly, I'm still passionate about public health, social protection, state capacity, and economic development.

At Harvard, I was an Applied Mathematics student but switched to Economics in my last semester when I realized I could graduate early while skipping Partial Differential Equations. I completed a few tracks of first-year economics PhD coursework, studied statistics, and independently researched legal NLP under Andrei Shleifer, but I also sat in graduate seminars in anthropology and writing workshops. I studied under Sen & Rothschild, Laibson, Glaeser, and over at MIT Econ with Banerjee. I published an anthology of translated short fiction, entitled Gloriosa Superba, with the new Harvard Tamil Chair, and was awarded the 2022 Charles Edmund Horman Prize for fiction-writing for original work. I loved living in Cambridge, MA, a postracial queer cybernetic space which can feel weightless at times (which I've thought to be styled after the anarchist moon in the Le Guin novel). While at Harvard, I was awarded an Institute of Politics grant, was a founding director of the Harvard Undergrads for Inclusion in Economics (HUIE), and served as a chair of the Harvard College Debating Union (HCDU).

I am notorious for cursory, ephemeral, and early-stage interests. Some more mature interests include anti-caste ideas, politics, queer theory, comparative linguistics, cinema, and long-form, typically with a subcontinental slant.

I live and love in Bengaluru, Karnataka. I am privileged to live in a lush hideaway alley, 2 degrees cooler, true to the Garden City's nom de guerre. In the nice old military quarter, we're aplenty with military-style eateries and old markets, in a walkable neighborhood enclosing Blossom's and the Bookworm (and Gangaram's and Goobe's), and the bars of Church St and Lavelle, and motorcycle ride away from Cubbon, the Middle Room, and Siddiq Kabab Centre.

In another life, I was a debater and coach—in high school, I was a Grand Finalist at the world championships and Best Speaker at both the biggest Indian university parliamentary debates.

I consider myself a seeker.
